Andrew Hogg

Interior Styling Consultant 8 Design Lab

Andrew is a highly experienced interior designer with specialisation in space planning, decoration service for retail, hospitality and residential projects. After graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Andrew started developing his design skills by working on several high-end residential projects for celebrities in London. His clients include Dustin Hoffman, the late Freddie Mercury, Fort Belvedere and the Eaton Hall for the Duke and Duchess of Westminster.

Andrew's love for travel saw him working in different cities around Australia and New Zealand in the late 1980s and early 1990s, followed by a stint in Hong Kong. During this period, Andrew worked on several high-end hotel projects, including the Hong Kong Jockey Club, The Peninsula Hotel refurbishment and Shanghai Hotels, along with designing bespoke restaurants around the Soho area in Hong Kong.

In 1998, Andrew migrated to Australia, where he put his focus on retail and healthcare projects. In 2011, Andrew relocated back to Hong Kong for further professional development and international experience. During this time, he joined Hirsch Bedner Associates, the world's largest hospitality design firm, working exclusively on hospitality and hotel projects in China.

Andrew returned to Brisbane with his family in 2016. He was soon appointed as Head of Brand Design for an international F&B company to solely develop and create new store concepts, flagship restaurants and branding to the fleet of delivery vehicles. In late 2018, he decided to join 8Design Lab to pursue his design career at a new dynamic level.

In addition to his design skills, Andrew is a seasoned collector of European and Asian antiques. As such, he brings his solid international knowledge into all aspects of the design process. Recognising how the history of a building can change over time, Andrew provides professional advice on period detail for renovation, restoration, adaptive reuse, and new build to residential and commercial projects.
